Vocal recording session

Recorded vocal today, but alot of work need to be done still!
Tuning of vocals, slicing and stuff. Then finally, mix it!
It turns out quite well, as it kind of achieve something that i want, the anger and angst in his tone.
However, he still needs to work on his vocal pitching.

Re-arrangement of my pod1

Well, alot of work needed to be done to my pod1.

The arrangement was too boring, thus i re-arranged it, yet keeping its main hook.
However, i added a post bridge, to create the effects of a very spacy kind of feel.
I hope it helps with the song! Can't wait to finish it!

Guitar and Bass

Wow, i'm 1 step closer to finishing the assignment!
I've recorded the bass and guitar earlier today, really just need to spend alot of work on flexing everything together, and make them sounds tight!
Some of the parts have like hits like triplets?

I want them to sound perfectly tight together, thus flexing is unavoidable :D

After that, i also did alot of cleaning of tracks, to make it sounds so much more neat.

Synthesizer!

In this arrangement, I’ve recording a few synthesizer sounds from both analogue synthesizer and digital synthesizer.

The picture above is called “ALESIS Micron”. It is an analog synth which produces a lot of very edgy and rough tone, which really works for my electro composition. It also able to produce very massive bass sounds which can be used for my breakdown.

The picture above is called “Novation mininova”. This is a very new creation from novation, it’s so new that its software has not yet being published.
It is famous for distinct dubstep sound, electro sound and keyboard leads sound. It’s really useful for my arrangement.

Drum recording

I hired a sessionist to play for my drums, thus i have to like prepare a drum score. Really not used to doing a drum score professionally although i've learned the basics from arranging class. When it comes to doing it for sessionist purposes, it is not as easy as it seems. However, really glad that it turns out really well and, finally have something to mix! :D

MIDI consultation number 1

WOW! Mr.Spicer has been really helpful! Expecially the convertion of Midi to Wave and editting it in Wave. It's really helpful in many ways.
Most of the people out there, are actually doing it, or rather they record with their synthesizer and sample it into midi sampler, then play it, and bounce it out as wave form!

Problem number 1 solve.
One of my wobber bass sound, it sounds perfectly fine when i'm just like playback from the logic itself.
It kinda sound very screwed up with my automation on the macro settings, when i bounce it out with the song itself. Thus, i finalized it with the automation and bounce it out as a wave, then mix everything in another project.
It really helps interms of saving the usages of my processor and never ever crash anymore.

The automation does not really work well, when i bounce it out, thus i really have to solo it, and make all the other tracks inactive for my comp to effectively bounce it out.

Finally a post again!

Well, it's been like ages since my last post.
Was really rushing to submit my REMT assignment! Well now i can focus on POD2.
To be honest, my progress is still stuck in the last blog post, however, i have finalized my drums arrangement, the rest of them just need to wait for the song to be done to alter the chord progression and stuff like it.
Well, hopefully i can finish up my song really quick.
I will be sourcing for help as i'm not using SONG WRITING as part of my skill-sets, so it's pretty legal for me to do so, or rather, best for me, as i'm one hell of a bad song writer.

A post a week

I've really tried my best to post at least a blog post per week, to keep myself update on what's going on. There's other assignment coming in, I don't think i'm really focusing on POD right now.
But still, just thought that it would be very helpful at least i know where i am now. The stage now is kinda messy, i've completely scrap my whole song, and kind of re-done it ( Not really done, but the rough arrangement is there i guess)
However, the lead hook lines still remain, really fond of the motif. Gonna keep it nomatter what happens.

Lead hook lines!

I have came out with a lead hook line!
Basically playing with octaves movement! However, impactful! (At least to my own hearing)
The lead lines are synthesized with midi, from Massive.
Massive is really awesome. Been using it for awhile now, however, still have to search up for tutorial, as i'm not completely using the full usage of massive yet. It has so much more function that is far beyond my knowledge to use it. Well, at least it's really decent enough for me to use it, but still does not sound full, might be spamming alot of plug-ins, reverbs and stuff, to make it fit into mix.

Rough demo!

YES! Yesterday i just had this rough idea, and had spent almost the half the day to complete the demo!
It's very half-assed, and has no song. Only the arrangement are there, gonna alter the chord progression and stuff when the song is done of course!
Used alot of synths sound, but it's super not impressive as i'm using the presets from logic!
Really when i'm finalized, i'm gonna make all the sounds from ES2/ MAssive, or RECORD it from real Synthesizer.
Really want to get the analog sounding synth, instead of those Midi sounding synth.
As my genre requires me to record all real time instrument yet combine them with synthsizer. I don't think using MIDI is a very good idea! Maybe gonna consult Mr. Spicer for his mini moog?

CROSSFAITH !!!

WOWOWOWWOWOWOW, REALLY INSPIRED BY CROSSFAITH!!!
Their style is kinda what i've always wanted to make. They often use alot of synth sounds into metalcore music. However, they're still consider a modern metalcore band! Their usage of synths are very creative, i'm going to do something close to them (IF I'M CAPABLE), but not so heavy in terms of the genre of course. I will be doing something like hmmmms, alternative rock? 30 seconds to mars maybe?

First post! Directions!

First post! I've totally forgotten my blog link for my first pod, thus i'm creating a new POD journel !
Now i will talk abou the musical direction of the songs.

I have different views on how i want my pod to sound like, it must include Electro-sounding sounds, trashy upfront guitars, yet simple arrangement.

I don't really want to make a very complex arrangement, as it would be extremely difficult for me to mix too, as i've planned to use REMT as 1 of my skill sets. Who knows, i might be actually doing a difficult arrangement? Probably not, as i'm not up to that standard yet.

Well, so far hasn't done anything yet! Well, wish me luck :D
